Completed in 1895 as the Reliance Building it was one of the first steel framed skyscrapers in the world. Tumbled stone flooring in the entry lobby complement the restored stone floor used in the original lobby. Swans, mating for life, swim in the corridor carpet design of our guestroom floors. Expansive windows featuring incredible views of downtown Chicago are draped in handsome blue velvet and tie back panels with samplings of Mozart's symphonies.The lobby's details can all be admired from the "Living Room", where overstuffed leather couches and mohair chairs invite guests to stay and relax. The "Living Room" also hosts the evening's complimentary wine reception and the morning's coffee and tea service. The pet-friendly hotel welcomes pets with a treat plus food and water dishes to use during their stay. The 122 richly appointed guest rooms continue the elaborate design of the hotel decor.
