• Chuy's: Chuy's preserves the homey feeling of the way restaurants were in the 50s. They created a menu that reminded us of home. Their recipes came from friends and family who created them from scratch.
• Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen: Cajun/Creole seafood is their specialty. Great etoufee, boiled crawfish, oysters on the half shell. Good traditional favories such as shrimp coctail and traditional salads as well. Part of the Pappas Family of restaurants that began in Houston.
• Pizzitola's Bar-B-Cue: Since 1935, Pizzitola's is Houston's oldest continuous serving barbecue restaurant. Originally Shepherd Drive Barbecue, this " OPEN PIT" style cooking turns out fine hickory smoked ribs, brisket, links and chicken.
• Hickory Hollow: Best known for Texas-style barbecue and chicken fried steak and have won highest honors for these and other good things, too.
