The Hilton is across the street from The Midwest Express Center via a convenient indoor skywalk. Built in 1927, the hotel opened as the hotel Schroeder. During prohibition, the hotel was a gathering spot for many speakeasy regulars. When prohibition ended, The Lorraine Bar featured the city’s longest bar, the 82 foot serpentine bar and served beers brewed locally, beers that have made Milwaukee famous Miller, Pabst, Gettelman and Schlitz.
