Location Description:
Safranbolu get its name from this Holy Plant Safran, most expensive plant on earth. Safranbolu Houses, which continue to live in the Turkish city of culture today for hundreds of years, are important historical buildings. In the district of the city there are 2000 traditional Turkish houses which were built in 18th,19th and early 20th century. 800 of these works are under legal protection. Safranbolu is a town and district of Karabük in the Black Sea region of Turkey. Former Turkish names of her were Zalifre and Taraklıborlu and in Greek Saframpolis, Σαφραμπολις. The Old Town preserves many old buildings, with 1008 registered historical artifacts.
