Downtown Memphis
Downtown Memphis, Tennessee, is located on the Mississippi River. Memphis is the home of Beale Street, an icon for the history of blues. Also in Memphis is the National Civil Rights Museum, formerly the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King, Jr. was shot.
